Dr. Eldred on Mile High Capital Group

Like most outside observers, I have been surprised, saddened and concerned by the civil and criminal litigation centered on the Mile High Capital Group situation. It would be tragic if at the end of the day people who had put their trust in Mile High’s products, procedures, and personnel turn out to have been let down, hurt, and especially, in any way, mislead. Those who know me know that fair dealing and integrity are bedrocks of my relationships, and I have no tolerance of those who do not operate from these same principles.

Having said that, I have a belief that the responsible perspective is to let the judicial system sort this out and not to add heat but not light to the situation by uninformed or speculative comments. It seems that the litigation surrounding the company, whether in bankruptcy court, the criminal justice system, or civil litigation, will have its resolution sooner rather than later; more likely in months rather than years.

Rick Dryer is my friend, and I have concern for him and his family; especially his wife Amy, who is also my friend, and his youngest sons, who are my waterskiing and hiking buddies. As any friend would, I support Rick in his time of testing.

I have no particular insight or knowledge of Mile High matters. Like many other guest speakers, my only connection with the company was as an occasional speaker at the Right Place Right Time Real Estate Investment Strategies Seminars, where Mile High was a major sponsor.

Whatever the outcome of the Mile High Capital situation, I am convinced that Rick’s Right Place Right Time Strategies are well thought out, useful, and well reasoned expressions of real estate analysis and procedures. I hope I do not seem unhumble if I feel the same way about my books and experiences. I know Rick shares my belief and passion that real estate ownership provides important opportunities to ordinary folks to improve their financial situation with informed choices and methodologies. The intent of our Dialogues is to share information about the tools and perspective we think will be helpful to our readers.

As to Mile High matters, I will continue to do the responsible thing: express no uninformed opinion nor make speculative comments. Let’s let the judicial system do its job before passing judgment ourselves.

Sincerely,
